Dr. Craig W. George and Mrs. Shirley George
Craig George and Shirley George (née Overholt) are long-time supporters of Africa University and are charter members of the Richard E. "Dick" Reeves Legacy Society, having been inducted in 2001.
Craig and Shirley have been married 65 years. They are both members of the 1953 graduating class of Mount Union College (Alliance, OH) where they met. Craig graduated from the School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania in 1957 and completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Kresge Eye Institute.
Craig and Shirley resided in Alliance, Ohio for 35 years and now live in Canandaigua, New York where they re-located after Craig's retirement. They are the proud parents of two children and proud grandparents of two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Craig and Shirley are both life-long Methodists and are members of First United Methodist Church of Canandaigua.
They are being recognized for having made a second substantial gift designated for the Africa University Endowment Fund in support of the current campaign.
